YOUR INFORMATION

Privacy policy

A clear explanation of what we collect, why we need it and what happens when a tree-service enquiry is referred to a local provider.

About this policy

Lismore Tree Co. is operated by Driers Australia Pty Ltd. This policy applies to personal information handled through this website, our phone and SMS service, email and the Lismore Leads Lead Desk.

We aim to handle personal information consistently with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply, and otherwise in line with responsible privacy practice.

Information we collect

Depending on how you contact us, we may collect:

  • your name, phone number, email address and preferred contact method;
  • your suburb, property and access details, requested service and description of the tree work;
  • photos or files you choose to upload, including information visible within an image;
  • emails, SMS messages, call or voicemail details, and other communications with us;
  • enquiry status, internal notes and follow-up information, such as whether you were contacted, response time, satisfaction and any price information you voluntarily provide; and
  • basic technical and security information generated when the website is used, such as device, browser and server log information; and
  • enquiry attribution information, such as the first page visited, referring website and campaign details included in a link.

We aim to collect only information that is reasonably necessary to assess, manage and follow up an enquiry.

How we collect information

We usually collect information directly from you through our website forms, by phone, SMS or email, and during follow-up conversations. We may also receive relevant updates from a tree-service provider about an enquiry we referred to them.

Why we use it

We use personal information to:

  • respond to, assess and manage your tree-service enquiry;
  • identify and refer the enquiry to a suitable local tree-service provider;
  • contact you in the way you prefer and follow up on the outcome;
  • operate our Lead Desk, maintain business records and understand the quality and value of referred enquiries;
  • operate, secure and improve the website and enquiry service; and
  • meet legal obligations, prevent misuse and resolve questions or complaints.

If you do not provide the information marked as required, we may not be able to assess, respond to or refer your enquiry.

Who we share it with

With your consent, we may share the information needed to assess the job, including uploaded photos, with a suitable local tree-service provider. Once a provider receives the information, that provider is responsible for its own handling of the information and its dealings with you.

We may also disclose information to trusted providers that support website hosting, cloud storage, email delivery, telecommunications and business administration; to professional advisers; or where required or authorised by law. We do not sell an enquiry for unrelated marketing.

Photos and property information

Photos can contain personal information. Please upload only images you are authorised to share and that are relevant to the enquiry. Where practical, avoid including faces, vehicle number plates, private documents, neighbouring properties or unrelated people.

You can withdraw consent before an enquiry is forwarded by contacting us promptly. We may not be able to retrieve copies that have already been provided to a contractor or processed as part of the enquiry.

Storage and overseas processing

We use third-party technology providers to host the website, store enquiry records and images, deliver email and provide telecommunications. Their systems may process or store information in Australia or overseas. Provider locations can change. We take reasonable steps to use reputable services and protect the information we control; contact us if you would like current details relevant to your enquiry.

Security and retention

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Access to the Lead Desk is restricted. No internet transmission or storage system can, however, be guaranteed completely secure.

We keep information for as long as reasonably needed to manage and follow up the enquiry, keep appropriate business and legal records, resolve disputes and protect our legitimate interests. When it is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

Access, correction and deletion requests

You may ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it where appropriate. Email us with enough detail to identify the enquiry. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where the law permits or requires it.

Marketing, cookies and analytics

We do not use enquiry details for unrelated direct marketing without consent. The website uses temporary browser storage to remember how a visitor first reached the site during that browsing session. If an enquiry is submitted, details such as the landing page, referring website and campaign name may be saved with the enquiry so we can understand which sources produce genuine leads.

We may also use Google Analytics to understand visits, page use and actions such as successful enquiry submissions or clicks on phone and email links. Google Analytics may use device identifiers or similar technology and may process information overseas. We configure it without advertising personalisation or Google Signals. You can limit analytics through your browser settings or available Google opt-out tools.

Privacy questions and complaints

Contact us with the subject line Privacy request. Please describe the issue and the outcome you are seeking. We will review it and respond within a reasonable time.

If your concern is not resolved, you may be able to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services, technology or legal obligations change. The current version and effective date will always appear on this page.
